The McLaren 600LT Spider Segestria Borealis is an ultra-rare creation by McLaren Special Operations that takes its inspiration from the sinister segestria florentina arachnid. It also marks the end of the 600LT, with the final 12 examples being treated to this special configuration.
The exterior of this exquisite car is draped in Borealis Black paint, which pops in the light with green, purple, and dark red undertones, just like the iridescent black colouring of the venomous spider. It is complemented with a pair of Napier Green stripes running from bumper to bumper, over the top of the car. Napier Green is also implemented on the brake calipers and pinstripes on the rear diffuser.
The Segestria Borealis also includes the MSO Clubsport pack, adding lightweight titanium wheel bolts, gloss-finished carbon fibre front fender louvers, lightweight carbon fibre racing seats, and carbon fibre interior accents. In addition, the Segestria Borealis includes an upgraded Bowers & Wilkins 12-speaker audio system, rear parking sensors, a front axle lift system, and a McLaren Track Telemetry data recorder.
Performance-wise, the twin-turbocharged 3.8-litre V8 still churns out 441kW (592hp) with 620Nm of torque and runs through a seven-speed transmission. The 0 to 100km/h dash is done and dusted in 2.8 seconds.
If you’re keen to pick up one of the last examples of the open-top 600LT, be prepared to pay a hefty $NZ450,000.
