Talented Red Bull Racing 20-year-old Broc Feeney has taken the third win of his Supercars career with a lights-to-flag victory in the final race at the Perth SuperSprint.
In his win, Feeney completed a Grand Slam having started on pole, led every lap, set the fastest lap and won the race.
Will Brown backed up his Race 8 win to finish second ahead of teammate Brodie Kostecki, who extends his lead atop the championship standings.
Shane van Gisbergen was the best of the Kiwis to come home 12th, with Matt Payne coming home 18th. Andre Heimgartner’s difficult weekend continued, the Kiwi dropping down the order to come home 22nd.
For Feeney, the win came right off the start, the youngster holding off a good Kostecki launch to take the lead into Turn 1 with the field quickly falling into file behind.
A spin for Declan Fraser at the end of Lap 1 didn’t affect running, the youngster doing well to avoid returning his car into approaching traffic as he rotated. Jack Le Brocq was awarded a 15-second penalty for causing the incident.
Kostecki and Brown swapped places on Lap 3, Brown going about hunting down a fast Feeney and making quick ground on the Red Bull.
Feeney held firm, with the field all boxing through the mid-stages as the leader remained out. Stopping early was of quick benefit for Tim Slade, the #23 Camaro undercutting several competitors until his tyres began to fade late on.
Feeney finally came in for his stop as the last runner to do so, returning to the track with a lead of 2.5 seconds.
Further back, van Gisbergen elected for four new tyres when he boxed, returning to the track in 18th before commencing the traditional SVG charge which has become all too familiar.
The Kiwi managed several passes over the short seven-turn circuit, eventually coming to the back of a four-car battle as the laps ran out.
Up front, it was all Feeney, the #88 Camaro taking the win over Brown by 6.88 seconds with Kostecki a further 3 seconds back in third.
David Reynolds continued his strong display of pace, coming home fourth ahead of Chaz Mostert whose fifth sees him take second spot off van Gisbergen in the championship standings.
Cam Waters, Will Davison, Slade, James Courtney and Scott Pye rounded out the top 10.
Supercars next returns with the Tasmania SuperSprint from May 19-21.
