Formula 1 hopeful and current ART F2 driver Marcus Armstrong has confirmed his spot on the grid for this weekend’s third round of the F2 Virtual Racing series.
Contested on the narrow streets of Monte Carlo, the 19-year-old will partner F3 rookie and ADAC F4 champion Théo Pourchaire amid a 20-strong grid.
Title protagonist Arthur Leclerc will be gunning for another victory around his home streets. The Monegasque driver is looking to build on the success he had in round one where he clean swept the competition in both the sprint and feature events.
Joining Armstrong on the debutant list is Dan Ticktum, Enaam Ahmend and former Toyota Racing Series rival Robert Shwartzman who will partner Leclerc in the second PREMA machine.
Unlike the previous two rounds where BWT HWA Racelab operated a sole entry, this weekend sees the team run F2 journeyman Artem Markelov and F3 driver Enzo Fittipaldi.
Despite making his debut presence in the opening round, fellow kiwi Liam Lawson has not since returned to the virtual series.
It will be an early start for Armstrong with qualifying slated to begin at 3 am NZT Monday May 25.
The action will be live streamed via the official Formula 1 YouTube and Twitch channels.
