Young New Zealander Liam Sceats will be back in action this weekend when he takes part in the opening round of the Formula Regional Japanese Championship at the famed Fuji Speedway.
Sceats will compete for Sutekina Racing Team over three races at the venue with one on Saturday and two on Sunday.

M2 Competition Team Principal Mark Pilcher, who also oversaw Sceats’s 2023 Formula Regional Oceania campaign, will accompany the Aucklander to Japan.
Sceats made the announcement in a social media post this evening.
“I am excited to announce that I will be racing with Sutekina Racing Team for Round 1 of the Formula Regional Japanese Championship at Fuji Speedwaythis weekend,” he shared on Facebook.
“I am using this opportunity to further develop my knowledge and skills so that I am able to hit the ground running in 2024.
“A huge thank you to the Formula Regional Japanese Championship promoters who have presented me with the opportunity of being the International Scholarship Driver for the 2023 FRJ Championship,” the post continued.
“Lucky to have M2 Competition Team Principle, Mark Pilcher, who I recently drove for in the CTFROC season, travelling with me and supporting me whilst overseeing the project during this experience.
“Thank you to all my supporters that have helped me get to this point in my career!”
The first race of the weekend takes place at 5.10pm on Saturday New Zealand time. Race 2 is at 12.30pm on Sunday (taking daylight saving into account) with the final run at 4.50pm.
