There are changes aplenty for tonight’s seventh round of the BP Supercars All Star Eseries event contested on the Charlotte Motor Speedway and the Daytona road course.
The opening race will see the series turn off simulated damage for both qualifying and the main event.
Ultimately, this change makes each car indestructible and promises to be the catalyst in promoting some chaotic racing.
Similarly, unlike all previous rounds, tonight’s event will not feature a reverse grid race, with the final two races at Daytona set to have its grid determined by an earlier 20-minute qualifying session and points aggregate.
However, damage will be turned back on for the final two races.
All three races will comprise of one mandatory pitstop, with two compulsory stops assigned for the evening’s final event.
Despite no longer being contracted to a Supercars team, Will Davison will still make an appearance in the virtual championship, sporting a fresh livery with long-time sponsor Doric.
“Obviously it’s unfortunate circumstances, but I still want to be involved in the Eseries while working on my future plans in the real world,” said Davison.
“The support of Doric makes this possible, they’ve been great friends over a long time, so to be able to continue in the Eseries with their support is exciting.
“Last week at Circuit of the Americas I unlocked a few things in iRacing, so hopefully that can carry over tonight and we can nail down some more solid results, and move up in the championship standings.”
Qualifying will begin tonight from 8 pm NZT via Sky Sport and the official Supercars Facebook page.
