Greg Murphy has received a late call up for tonight’s celebrity Supercars Eseries event contested on a virtual Mount Panorama circuit.
A four-time champion at the hallowed venue, Murphy’s most famed moment came when wrestled his Kmart Commodore to the Lap of the Gods during the 2003 Top 10 Shootout.
Murphy will pilot an #51 All Blacks-inspired livery due to the late withdrawal of International Rugby players Codie Taylor and Angus Ta’avao.
The 47-year-old has also been a part of the Racing Local Eseries over the last two weeks, quickly coming up to speed in the realm of sim-racing.
Murphy will join fellow ex-Supercar drivers Craig Lowndes and Steven Richards tonight, both of whom he won Bathurst with during his storied tenure.
Tonight’s celebrity race gets underway from 9 pm NZT and will be broadcast live on Sky Sport and streamed via the official Supercars Facebook page.
