The 67th New Zealand Grand Prix is shaping up to be an event you don’t want to miss with a full field of international drivers and a variety race classes taking to Hampton Downs Motorsport Park from February 3 to 5, 2023.
This weekend’s event is also round four of the Super Sprint Motorsport New Zealand Championship which will be televised live on Sky Sport in New Zealand and Fox Sports in Australia on both the Saturday and Sunday, with TV3 airing the Sunday afternoon race programme.

Castrol Toyota Formula Regional Oceania Championship
Attendees can expect to see a field of 20 drivers take part in the main attraction, the fourth round of the Castrol Toyota Formula Regional Oceania Championship (CTFROC), in which Austrian driver Charlie Wurz currently leads in terms of points.
Young Kiwi Callum Hedge will be looking to overtake the championship leader as he sits just six points off the top spot.
Also joining the grid will be four more New Zealand talents including Kaleb Ngatoa, Brendon Leitch, Billy Frazer, and Chris Van Der Drift. That brings the total number of Kiwis in the round’s three races to eight.

Toyota 86 Championship
The Toyota 86 Championship will also resume at the NZGP with its third round being held at Hampton Downs.
Brock Gilchrist holds a narrow lead over Dion Pitt of just 13 points while Clay Osborne sits just three points behind the second spot.
The field for the Grand Prix weekend will also include Hunter Robb and former category racer Mark Mallard with the grid now growing to 20 cars.

GT New Zealand
GT New Zealand will return to the Super Sprint championship with the series now featuring a total of 25 cars.
D1NZ National Drifting Championship
The opening round of the Valvoline D1NZ drift series will also take place this weekend which will take to the circuit following the day’s race programme on Friday and Saturday.
New Zealand Formula Ford Championship
This weekend will see the opening round of the 2023 New Zealand Formula Ford Championship get underway with a 20 car field expected on the grid.

Event Schedule
Spectator Information
Adult tickets for the event cost $20 on Friday, $45 for a day pass on Saturday and Sunday, or a full weekend pass for $90.
Tickets for children aged between 8 and 14 cost $10 on all days.
These can be purchased at the gate on the day or online.

- Scattered thunderstorms have been forecast for Friday while scattered showers are predicted on the Saturday.
- It will be mostly cloudy on Sunday with a high of 26 degrees.

- Bring along an umbrella in case of rain.
- Sunscreen and a hat is also recommended even during overcast conditions.

- Toilets can be found at the back of the pavilion as well as across from the main pit garages towards the Porsche Dipper.
