The future of 23Red Racing and Will Davison in Supercars are in serious doubt, with James Courtney in the hot seat to take over the Mustang with Boost Mobile backing.
It is understood that Milwaukee has pulled its backing from the outfit due to the effects of the ongoing pandemic.
A meeting held on Monday was conducted to decide the fate of the team, after which it is believed that Racing Entitlements Contract owner Phil Munday had opted to leave the championship.
This would in all likelihood mean that Will Davison will be left without a full-time drive for the remainder of 2020, at least.
James Courtney has been linked with the vacant seat with Boost Mobile backing as Peter Adderton looks to acquire the REC.
Earlier this season, Courtney signed with Team Sydney, though the partnership was short-lived as the 2010 champion left in acrimonious circumstances shortly after the Adelaide 500 event.
Courtney and Boost Mobile were close to a wildcard deal with Erebus before the Milwaukee exit opened the door for a potential full-time Tickford seat.
An official announcement is expected to be made today.
