Teretonga Park Raceway in Invercargill celebrates 65 years of motorsport action on Sunday with a club day at the circuit including an appearance from Jordan Michels who contested in the Super3 Series earlier this year.
On the day, attendees can expect track demonstration runs in the morning before a BBQ lunch and then a race meeting in the afternoon with the Noel McIntyre Drainage Club Saloons on track.
Spectators are welcome and there is no charge at the gate.
The morning activities will see many past and present members and volunteers tackle a Standing Quarter and Flying Laps with a range of competitors including Life Member York Wills who competed at the opening meeting on 30 November 1957 in a Triumph TR2.
Another Life Member, Club Patron Barry Keen, was going to compete but is an unlikely starter now but will definitely be in attendance. Keen was another who competed and actually won a race at that opening meeting in his Standard 8.
The afternoon will see a series of races for the Noel McIntyre Drainage Saloons with a range of competitors lining up.
Expect Jordan Michels and Club Champion Liam MacDonald to resume their rivalry of last season in their Ford Focus V8 and Falcon respectively while there are several other very quick cars lining up such as Brian Scott of Dunedin in his Porsche 997.2, Anthony Ralston in his Nissan Bluebird and Rodger Cunninghame in his Mustang.
The race cars will hit Teretonga Park Raceway from 1:00pm with short testing and qualifying sessions before racing begins and continues through until around 4:30pm.
