Following customer and driver feedback, Toyota Gazoo Racing has upgraded its GR Supra GT4 EVO race car for 2023.
The GR Supra GT4 has successfully contested in race series around the world since 2020, wracking up over 100 podium finishes and victories in 11 GT4 championships. It also celebrated its 50th class win in a major championship earlier this year.
Intense competition has driven further development of the car with the GR Supra GT4 now being given an EVO update for the upcoming 2023 race season.
Toyota Gazoo Racing engineers have focussed on three key areas for the EVO including its brakes, handling and engine.
An improved brake design adjoins new ABS settings while the latest KW damper technology and updated anti-roll bar specification are among the updates. The upgrades are said to deliver improved handling and higher cornering speeds.
Under the bonnet, the BMW-derived twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre has been given more power, an optimised torque curve and more effective cooling. Power is dependent on the Balance of Performance (BoP) determined by a race series but max torque is said to reach 660Nm.
The GR Supra GT4 EVO will make its competitive debut in January 2023 at the 24 Hours of Daytona, the first round of the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge season.
Orders for the EVO will be taken from October 28 2022 and an upgrade kit will be available to existing GR Supra GT4 customers.
