Scott McLaughlin will soon be making a return to the Supercars paddock later this year, but not to get behind the wheel.
Now that the 2022 IndyCar Series has come to an end with the Kiwi driver finishing fourth in the points standings, McLaughlin has decided to lend a hand in the commentary box at the VALO Adelaide 500 as part of the broadcast team.
The last time he featured in a Supercars event was at the Bathurst 1000 in 2020. As that was over two years ago, McLaughlin is understandably excited about the return to his old stomping ground where he won three championships.
“I can’t wait to get back to a Supercars event although this time it will be a very different experience,” McLaughlin said speaking with Supercars.
“I’ve always had an interest in the TV game and I’m really excited to that I’ll be doing it for the first time with some of the best in the business in Jess Yates, Neil Crompton and Mark Skaife.
“I’ve watched as much of the season so far when I can, even on the bus at my events and love to follow the progress of the championship.”
McLaughlin also said he’s looking forward to giving his rivals “a bit of stick” when he takes up microphone duty at the event.
The VALO Adelaide 500 will be held on December 1 to 4.
