It has been confirmed that four legends of Bathurst will be getting behind the wheel of historic touring cars in support of the 2022 ITM Auckland SuperSprint at Pukekohe Park Raceway next month.
We recently reported that Greg Murphy and John Bowe would be getting behind the wheel of two Ford Sierras in the Archibalds Historic Touring Cars support category at the event with two more familiar names now joining them.
Steven Richards and Paul Radisich now join the lineup of Bathurst legends racing at Pukekohe who will be competing against Murphy and Bowe.
A 33-car grid will make up the historic touring car field with 13 being Group A cars alongside 13 Super Tourers.
Murphy will get behind the wheel of the Peanut Slab Sierra Group A car he once raced in the Wellington street race and at Pukekohe some 30 years ago.
Bowe will be piloting an ex-Dick Johnson Racing Ford Sierra RS500 he once raced in the 1991 Australian Touring Car Championship and at Bathurst.
Radisich who also raced for DJR in the 1990s and early 2000s will be piloting a Wolf Ford Mondeo.
Richards, a five-time Bathurst winner, will be racing a Nissan Primera Super Tourer which he raced for Garry Rogers Motorsport in the 1997 Australian Touring Championship.
This year will be the final running of Supercars at Pukekohe Park Raceway as it is set to cease all motorsport activity from April 2023.
With a lineup of legends set to give the historic circuit a fitting send off, this won’t be an event you want to miss.
The final ITM Auckland SuperSprint takes place on September 9 to 11.
