After a stong start to the Formula E championship Mitch Evans is aiming to be in the title fight at the end of the season.
Evans currently sits third in the Formula E championship just nine points off Stoffel Vandoorne in the championship lead with Jean-Éric Vergne sitting second three points ahead of Evans.
Last season Evans ended the session fourth in the championship, nine points shy of championship winner Nyck De Vries.
The most recent round of the championship was held in Monaco, Evans took pole position before finishing second in the race, just over a second off championship leader Vandoorne. It was the prior event in Rome that was a turning point for Evans, who took both race wins at the track.
In a recent media conference, Evans spoke to Ruetir about his championship hopes this season.
“At the beginning of the season, we still didn’t think about the title, but after the two victories in Rome, we are aware that anything is possible,” Evans said.
“Now our goal as a team is to win the championship, I believe it is something we can achieve, but honestly for now we have to continue with our performances as we experienced in Rome, face every challenge, every single race.
“I will do my best, after Rome my mentality, my approach to competitions and to the championship has clearly changed.”
Strong results for Evan and his teammate Sam Bird have the Jaguar TCS Racing sitting third in the teams championship 26 points behind the Mercedes-EQ Formula E Team in the lead, with DS Techeetah.
The Formula E field will be on track this weekend in Berlin for rounds seven and eight of the championship.
