Shane van Gisbergen claimed pole position for race 4, before being involved in an incident, which is under review in the second session.
The field had two back to back qualifying sessions to set the grid for the two remaining races at Symmons Plains.
Race 4
After the first run, Anton de Pasquale sat at the top of the timesheets, ahead of Mark Winterbottom and Jake Kostecki. While van Gisbergen sat fifth, Andre Heimgartner seventh and Chris Pither in 23rd.
As cars came round to complete their final laps many drivers jumped up the timesheets
With just under a minute remaining van Gisbergen jumped to the top of the sheets with teammate Broc Feeney sitting just behind in second.
At the end of the session, SVG would claim pose position ahead of Feeney, with Winterbottom and Reynolds on the second row.
Chris Pither lead the field out for the final run, crossing the line with a lap time that would put him in 11th, while Heimgartner will start slightly further back in 14th
Race 5
Will Davison was the fastest car after the first set of laps, setting a 50.55 second lap, to put himself 0.06 faster than the time set by van Gisbergen.
Davison uses his best tyres on the first run of the session getting out of the car after the first run as did Todd Hazlewood who sat third at the time.
With just over a minute remaining there was contact between SVG and Tim Slade in the final corner as the Kiwi was finishing a lap that looked better than the one he set earlier in the session.
Both cars were damaged in the incident, with the red flag brought out, ending the session, before the majority of cars were able to set their final lap. Race stewards will look at the incident.
SVG will start from third, with Heimgartner set to start 20th and Pither back in 25th after a strong performance in the earlier session. The early lap Davison set stood, giving him pole position for the final race of the weekend.
Race 4 is set to start at 3 pm, with the final race scheduled for 5.55 pm
