Marcus Armstrong will race in Formula 2 this year, joining the Hitech GP outfit for his third campaign in the junior series.
The British squad are Armstrong’s third different team in as many years as he continues to try and break into Formula 1.
He debuted in the category with ART before switching to DAMS last year.
Hitech finished the 2021 season fourth in the Teams’ Championship, while DAMS had a mediocre season and finished eighth.
Armstrong tested for the Hitech team at a post-season shakedown in Abu Dhabi late last year.
“I’m looking forward to be working with a successful group of people and giving it everything I’ve got in my new Hitech team this year,” he said.
Armstrong essentially replaces fellow Kiwi Liam Lawson at Hitech. Lawson leaves the team to race for Carlin in the new season.
This year also marks Armstrong’s first F2 season not as a Ferrari Driver Academy member.
The 2022 F2 season begins with the Bahrain Grand Prix in mid-March.
