Rising Kiwi GT ace Brendon Leitch was announced as one of 15 Lamborghini Junior GT3 drivers today.
Leitch will be mentored across the 2021 racing season while racing in the 24-Hour Series in Europe.
He will be taught everything from media management to on-track performance in a programme designed to assist a driver’s professional and personal growth.
The mentors will assess all 15 junior drivers at the end of the year. Some will then be offered the opportunity to become a factory Lamborghini driver.
The Lamborghini junior programme was established in 2014 and has played a significant role in nurturing the talent of some of the most promising young GT drivers.
After competing in this year’s New Zealand Grand Prix, Leitch headed to Germany earlier this year for three rounds of the 24-Hour Series.
He is driving a Lamborghini Huracan Evo GT3 with Leipert Motorsport.
In his first race – the 12 Hours of Hockenheim – Leitch drove five of the 12 hours en route to finish third overall.
His next race will be the 24 Hours of Portimao in Portugal on July 16-18.
