Liam Lawson concluded the final day of DTM testing with the second-fastest lap at the Lausitzring.
The Red Bull-backed Kiwi ended up less than a tenth adrift of pacesetter Maximilian Gotz.
Gotz topped the previous day’s timesheets, and the Mercedes driver continued to impress today as he racked up 65 laps and set the fastest time of the week.
Lawson help top spot for most of the morning before Gotz’s best effort pipped the Ferrari by three tenths.
One final attempt in the last ten minutes of the day proved to be Lawson’s fastest but was not enough to usurp Gotz.
Lawson’s teammate Alex Albon rounded out the top three.
Only ten cars hit the circuit as a large part of the field returned to fulfil other commitments this weekend.
DTM also used today’s test to finalise the Balance of Performance for the start of the season.
Each manufacturer sent out two cars with low fuel to simulate a qualifying session.
Albon went fastest in the BoP session, marginally quicker than Gotz and Lawson.
Testing is now wrapped up for the DTM field, with the opening round slated for June 19-20 at Monza.
