Racer Products are the new naming rights sponsor of the New Zealand V8 Touring Car Championship.
It ends the long association the category had with BNT Automotive.
The series will now be called Racer Products V8s.
“We have been very privileged to have received support from our corporate partner BNT over many Years and we would like to take this opportunity to thank them and look forward to working with them again in the near future,” Category Manager Gary Lathrope said.
“We see Racer Products as a perfect fit for our V8 Allcomers category. With our new regulations allowing eligibility for a vast range of naturally aspirated V8 saloon cars along with our new long distance feature race with the Balance of Performance Pit Stops, we feel we have a great formula to grow the category with our new corporate partner.”
The name change comes as the V8 category takes on a major restructuring this season. Race formats have been altered to accommodate a new, longer feature race with compulsory pitstops.
Car eligibility this year is open to any V8-powered race car. The series will also be home to the start of the Trans-Tasman V8 championship (TTV8) over the next few years.
