Scott McLaughlin will don a stylish, Kiwi-inspired helmet motif for his debut IndyCar season, which begins on March 7.
For Supercar fans, the look resembles the same design worn by McLaughlin in his years in the championship.
However, this year, along with the Kiwi and New Zealand flag, McLaughlin has blended in the national flag of America.
Four stars are red to pay homage to the Southern Cross, while the remainder are white.
A quote from four-time Indianapolis 500 winner Rick Mears sits below the artwork. It reads: “If the opportunity arises, I’ll take it. If not, I’ll just work a little harder.”
The use of the Number 3 in the design indicates that McLaughlin will keep the same entry number he ran with in his debut race at the end of last season.
